Good afternoon ALL scout families, The scouts will celebrate those who have served our country at Veterans Memorial Park across from the Takoma Park Library on 11/11/2021 @ 6 p.m. Pack 23 is bringing lights so don't worry about it being too dark & dress warmly. Scouts should wear their Class A uniforms (or Girl Scouts their sashes/vests). This is a joint event, led by Pack 33 & 23 & Troop 5823 but ALL scouts are welcome.
The Takoma Park Mayor, TPPD, The Council & Knights of Columbus, as well as some community members have all been invited & planning to come.

Veterans Day is not an early release day for MCPS, but we will still do this but will do this at a time so the Troop 33 scouts can make it to their scout meeting on time.
Below is an outline of the ceremony program (Subject to adjust a little based on day of)
6 pm Gathering
6: 15 Pledge of Allegiance, Wreath Presentation, Moment of Silence
630 (ish) Adjourn
Here are a few logistical notes:
* All Scouts welcome & Parents and siblings are welcome to join us. Dress warmly.
* Unlike years past, this is not an early dismissal, so parents must bring & take their own children/scouts. Please make sure to check in to make sure you are counted as there (& so you can get credit for the time & patches).
* There is parking available behind the Takoma Park Community Center or Library.
* You may mark off rank requirements or badge requirements. Check with your scout leader. * This will count towards community service hours & towards the Pack JTE award. So, again, please make sure to check in to make sure you are counted as there (& so you can get credit for the time & patches). * This may (or may not depending on circumstances but plan to) be live on facebook.com/allaboutscouts so you can still see it if you can't make it.
