If you are new to Scouting, earning the Whittlin' Chip allows your Scout to use a pocketknife within certain parameters, including at campouts, and to use knives in general at appropriate times (like cooking at campouts). It's a big deal for the boys and they generally take it very seriously because a Whittlin' Chip can be taken away if knives are not used properly.

Next week, the first of our two groups will begin the Whittling Chip class with Dan DeMocker from Troop 33. Dan has generously offered his time and skill to lead 2 groups through the training. Because of our large group size, each class is limited to 10 students. The FIRST group will meet October 21st and 28th (two consecutive Mondays) and the SECOND group will meet November 4th & 11th.
